High Schoolers Encouraged to ‘thinkBIG!’ for $9,000 in Cash and Prizes!

Veale Youth Entrepreneurship Forum Launches Innovation Challenge and Summit.

Do you have the next big idea for Northeast Ohio? If you’re a high school student who loves to solve problems, thrives on creating things and is passionate about Northeast Ohio, thinkBIG! is for you! Registration is now open. High schools can register students at www.VealeEntrepreneurs.org.

Part 1–The Challenge:

Students develop big, entrepreneurial ideas and compete for prizes and bragging rights. Competitors (teams of 1-4 students) pick a category (Entertainment & Sports, Health & Medicine, Agriculture & Culinary Arts, Manufacturing & Making, or Wild Card) and work with an advisor to submit Challenge entries. Semifinalists submit a 60-second video for judging. Finally, the Final Four present at the Summit in front of judges and a live audience.

Up for grabs is $9,000 in prizes awarded for the most creative, entrepreneurial ideas. Both the students and their schools have the opportunity to win big, with $5,000 in cash for the winning team, as well as access to Fownders’ online academy for six months to further develop their idea. The winning school takes home a seat at a Wildfire Education Workshop for Entrepreneurial Studies and a traveling trophy.

Part 2–The Summit:

The Summit is a full-day event on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Tinkham Veale University Center at Case Western Reserve University. All students attending the Summit participate in a real-time hackathon led by Upcycle Parts Shop. Also on board are leading teen and millennial innovators, including Gerard Adams, Brennan Agranoff, Justin Lafazan, William Lynch, Deep Patel, Benjamin Stern and Haile Thomas. Students do not have to participate in the Challenge to attend the Summit.

“Students are creative problem-solvers with incredible talent. thinkBIG!
